Started in 2018, FSP litigates (and supports the litigation of) claims involving forensic science. Our central mission is to prevent the State from depriving individuals of liberty with faulty “scientific” methods. We work on motions and appeals involving (1) unreliable forensic evidence and (2) the standards governing the introduction/preclusion of forensic evidence. FSP is also involved in legal education efforts, e.g., CLEs, as well as amicus-brief work.
Matthew Bova and Marika Meis coordinate the Forensic Science Project.
